Rebecca Bruch was born in Port Huron, Michigan, on October 7, 1953. She was graduated from California State University, Sacramento, in 1978, with a degree in Government. She was a certified court reporter from 1986 until 2000. She graduated from the McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific, in 1999. She served as law clerk to the Honorable Phyllis Halsey Atkins, United States Magistrate Judge (District of Nevada) until July 2001.

Ms. Bruch was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in 2000 and to the State Bar of California in 2001. She is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada. She joined Erickson, Thorpe & Swainston, Ltd., in July of 2001, following the completion of her federal clerkship.

Ms. Bruch is a member of the American Bar Association, the Nevada Bar Association and Northern Nevada Women Lawyer’s Association (President 2003-2004). She is also a member of the Nevada Association of Defense Counsel (President 2005), the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada, the Defense Research Institute, where she is a member of the Employment Law Committee, and the Northern Nevada Human Resources Association.
